Warby Parker - New Collaboration

Hi Guys,

Have you heard of the fabulous brand Warby Parker?

source: http://www.warbyparker.com/eyeglasses

If so, you know that this fantastic brand offers stylish, quality sunglasses and eyeglasses at extremely reasonable prices! If not, you should know that they have fresh picked styles, and play off of classic ones too. You can order multiple frames, try them on in your own home (what!? love that!), and pick your favorite to purchase! The best part of this company though, in my opinion, is that for every pair of glasses sold, the company distributes a pair to someone in need. Fantastic!

My recent crush frame, if I HAD to pick just one, is the Chamberlain, which can be seen here:

But, more importantly...Today they launched a collaboration with Leith Clark on 5 new frames that I think you'll adore! According to Warby Parker, this collaboration is inspired by smart-looking and smart-thinking individualists, like writer and actress Zoe Kazan, photographed in the collection by noted fashion photographer Pamela Hanson. Each distinct shape features heaps of charm and whimsy. And just like Leith, the collection is ultra-ladylike and spirited.
Here are a few images to get you excited!

Check out all their styles at:
and

I know you'll love them just as much as I do!

Outfits & Embellishments

Happy Almost Friday!

With the season almost changing (Fall takes its sweet time to get to us here in California), I've been itching for new clothes. However, I decided that this time around, I would try to update my wardrobe with accessories rather than purchase new apparel! I find this to be a fun way to get more life out of those staple pieces that never go out of style. Don't get me wrong, I know there are times when a new item of clothing is a "must," but why not jazz up a well loved shirt and pants, or last season's dress with fun new jewelry!? Here are some "mood boards" for inspiration!
I'm hoping to make this a weekly post, so check back next Thursday for more "Outfits & Embellishments!"

New 'Do!

It's officially been a week since I chopped my hair off. I must say, it feels good.
I was a in a little bit in shock day 2 and 3, but I think I've got a hang of it now.
I love it, however it takes as long, if not longer, to style as my hair did 6 inches ago!

Something that is fun about my new 'do is that I feel lighter! It's so healthy, and the color is softer so I feel like a new gal. We'll see if I let it grow or keep it this length!

The rest of my outfit... Check out my Stella&Dot Site for the Accessories!

(Pants: Gap (old); Shirt: H&M (old); Scarf: "Union Square in Midnight Blue" My Stella&Dot Site; Bracelet: "Luna Wrap" Stella&Dot Site, Gold Ring: "Gilded Arrow" My Stella&Dot Site; Necklace: "On The Mark" My Stella&Dot Site.)

Happy Friday!

Been Gone So Long...

But I'm back! It's been months since I've blogged... time for that to change. Why? Because I actually have a bit of time back in my little hands!

A lot has happened in the last few months- got a "promotion" at work, planned a wedding, interviewed for a new job the week before my wedding, got offered said new job 8 days before my wedding, GOT MARRIED!, honeymooned, had my last few days at old job, and then started new job. BAM.

Yes that is a lot to cram into a small amount of time. But I did it, I'm on the other side, I'm happily 2+ months married and starting to settle in.

I will be blogging regularly again and I'm so excited to be back!

So, what is my first, extremely important subject, to blog about?
New hair. Yep. Time to change another thing!

I've had long hair for many years now, and although I'm not going to actually chop it all off (don't let me do that ever!) I do want to freshen it up both with style and color. Here are my inspiration pictures! Appointment is tomorrow... wish me luck!

Color Inspiration... this is currently the length of my hair.
I love the honey brown and blonde.

Cut Inspiration- medium length bob, but layered? Is that a "Lob?"

Cut and Color Inspiration- Ah, Julia from Gal Meets Glam, so pretty.

Another shot of Julia from Gal Meets Glam

Cut inspiration again.
I love the easy look of the style. (We all know it won't be that effortless though right?)

Color inspiration... and maybe cut inspiration if I chicken out!

No style inspired blog would be complete without Lauren Conrad. Love her.

I'll let you know how it goes and will be blogging about all that is and has been going on for me!

Equestrian Chic, with Head Over Heels with Melanie!

I'm so excited for this post! I collaborated with my friend (and in this case, stylist and photographer!) Melanie, of Head Over Heels with Melanie, to create wearable, modern equestrian chic looks. The inspiration came from an amazing Kate Spade purse (no longer available in this color), and when I got it, I immediately texted Melanie to say "we have to do an equestrian photo shoot!"
She excitedly agreed, we set a date, and started planning!
We scoured my closet, and with the help of some of Melanie's amazing scarves (and style sense of course) and my variety of Stella and Dot Jewelry we styled a few looks we both loved!
(and would wear any day!)

Of course, the boots are a must, and skinny jeans are the best for them. I die for my leather gloves, blazers and button downs. I think I lived the equestrian lifestyle in a previous life!

For another, more classic style, we added Melanie's vintage scarf that she has had and loves dearly. It was perfect for the look and the scenery! It couldn't have been better!

For the 3rd look, we changed it up with my statement blazer, beautiful hunter green scarf and a classic white button up. The hair came down for a casual feel.

And finally, to go full equestrian... we added Melanie's favorite "New York, I wore it all the time and loved it dearly" hat. Perfect!

Engagement Photos

I'm thrilled to be able to post pictures that my husband-to-be and I took with our Wedding Photographer, Melinda Bunker Photography, for our "e-session" or engagement session a few weeks ago! I'm so incredibly happy with the pictures and these are just a few of our favorites. (There were a lot of favorites, out of 175 pictures that she gave us, uhm... amazing much!?) We are so lucky to have Melinda as our photographer!- she is so talented and we love these pictures so much. (did I say that already?) Aside from the gorgeous pictures, Melinda is so fun and we had such a great time with her! She made us so comfortable and we are really looking forward to the wedding pictures with her! M.I.A.

Yep. That's me in a nutshell, blogging world. Missing in Action. I apologize for my serious lapse in blogging. I have a new job, a side job, a part time job, wedding planning and a tiny tiny tiny bit of time to see friends and family. I'm barely sleeping. I've never been so busy in my entire life! I don't want to complain about any of it, because mostly it's good stuff. But many, I'm tired.

I will do my best to take even 5 minutes every few days to check in and be a blogger again. I love it so much, and I miss it.

Must. Find. Time.

In the meantime, please understand that I miss it, and miss my fellow blogging friends!

Have a wonderful Sunday! Hope to talk to you all soon! :)

Sincerely,
A very tired Kara.
