1.  What high school did you graduate from?Carondelet High School in the Bay Area... it's an all girls Catholic High School, with the boys school, De La Salle across the street. It was an experience!2.  What's the most exciting post you have done to date?The post I had the most fun doing was my "going green" outfit post. Check it out here. Everything was just right for me, the hair, the makeup, the outfit.3.  Who is your blog-bestie?I have to say it's a tie between my girl Beverly who I've gotten to know really well recently, and  Brielle who I've been getting to know since I started blogging! Both fantastic ladies.4.  What would you do for the rest of your life (if money wasn't an issue)?Wow... I would do 2 things, the first is I would give free interior design services because I believe everyone should love where they live. I would also LOVE to work at an Animal Rescue/Shelter. I hold a very special place in my heart for animals.5.  Do you have a hidden talent? What is it?It's not so hidden, but I'm a painter and am pretty good at it! :)

6.  Do you have any dogs? If so, POST a pic!Sadly no, but here are a few of my pet friends! (friend and family dogs!)

9.  What show MUST you watch (or else your week falls apart)?Wow, there are too many to list. I get bummed out if I miss HIMYM or Parks and Rec. 10.  Do you have any brothers and/or sisters?Yep, 1 older sister, and 1 family friend who I call "brother" because he basically is.

Dressing Room Adventures

I love shopping... I love shopping even more when I have a gift card! (Free money like what!) This weekend I took a trip to my local Anthropologie with nearly $100 to spend. I've gone in a few times since having the gift card with no luck. So this time I decided to try on anything I remotely liked. Dangerous. I took pictures, because sometimes that is the only way I can really judge how something looks on me...

I love this striped shirt. It is oversized and has asymmetrical gathering on one side. 

This came home with me!

:::two:::

This one makes me laugh! I was SURE prior to trying this shirt on that I would buy it. And then I put it on. Ha! Not cute. Proof that sometimes you really do have to try something on to know!

:::three:::

Also a little funny. This shirt was a good idea in theory... I just felt like I had a tail. The color was great, as was the fabric. Maybe that's why it was on sale?! :) This did not come home with me!

:::four:::

THIS DRESS. I am so in love. It is so classic, and such a fun color. I wasn't sure about it before I tried it on, and then I just fell in love. It fits perfectly and can be worn in so many ways! 

This came home with me! :)

:::five:::

I liked this sweater. It fit cute, the fabric was light and flow-y. Unfortunately it was $78 which seemed pricey for what it was. I'm going to watch like a hawk for it to go on sale because the more I look at this pic, the more I wish I could have purchased it!

And for good measure, here is a pic of what I wore shopping- it was a cold, rainy and miserable day so I didn't feel it necessary to put on real clothes! :)

I first started my blog last year as a way to keep my family and friends as close as possible while I was busy moving here there and everywhere. to find ways to keep myself excited about life!

I love to dance, travel, bake, take pictures, sing, play the guitar, paint and most importantly laugh!
Because that's what life is all about!

Over the last couple of years, I have really learned to embrace life and go for my dreams. And if I fall flat on my face, to just get up, keep on going and make it work! Life is for living and not just enduring!

My Life Through Instagram, Part 2

A while back I posted 5 instagram collages here, in "My life through Instagram, part 1." I wanted to share pictures I have taken over the last year+ with instagram. It might be my favorite app! I love editing my pictures, sharing them with my friends, and seeing theirs. Here are 5 collages more of my instagram pics in "Part 2." More to come!

This was our trip to our local pumpkin patch in October. We went with my family. That's my guy being silly (as usual) and my nephew not loving that I'm trying to make him sit on a big pumpkin!

:::two:::

 That's my guy helping me with my branch project. Here's the d.i.y.  Gorgeous leaves outside my patio in the fall. The view from the patio of the store I work at as the sun was rising. The beach in Cayucos, CA- One of my favorite places in the world. I recommend visiting.

:::three:::

 Our trip to Tahoe for thanksgiving, check out that beard! My striped bed! (my favorite place in the world) My little nugget nephew all bundled up! Easy super festive christmas decor... spray painted pinecones, bright glittery ornaments, glass bowl and lights! Done!

:::four:::

My "name" necklace that I've had since I was 8 or 9 years old. It's hard to find "kara with a K" so I held on to it! I still wear it all the time! The view from the back porch in Tahoe. Fun nails, super bright pink with a grey statement nail. My jeans! I have to wear jeans for work so I've built up quite a collection.

My Guy and me at the office christmas party. Our reflection in an ornament! My favorite shoes. My curtains in my room- I love love love them. They are sheer linen with a gorgeous subtle pattern. Fave!

Another one of my displays... but this one was especially fun. I used pallets to display hanging planters- I had a major pinterest moment here! I mean, I would have NEVER thought to use a pallet in a display without the never ending pictures/ideas for reusing pallets. Ha! I love how it turned out, but man it was a lot of work! Creativity is such a perk of my job!

:::two:::

Taking this photo... it's "a corner of my home." It's nice to find and appreciate little nooks of my home that are so "me." I highly recommend it. All it takes is a smidge of a different perspective. :)

:::three:::

New glasses. I got these for my guy, and it turns out he already has some! So I kept 2 of them- I love that they are mason jars and that the brand's logo is a dog. Such a fun addition!

:::four:::

Finally got around to finishing this frame project for my future niece's room! Cute girly fabric in white frames. Love it.
