Bridal Stylist Photo Shoot

Happy Memorial Day to all! First I want to say a great big "Thank You!" to everyone who put their lives on the line for our country. You're appreciated more than you know!

I wanted to share a sneak peak into a photo shoot I was a part of yesterday. It was for my friend Melanie's (Lola's mama, for those of you familiar with my favorite dog) new Bridal Styling business that she is starting. It was a whirl-wind day for all, but mostly for Mel and her super helpful husband Andrew. It was an all day shoot, that was really 4 shoots in 1 day. I was in the last shoot of the day, the "Clambake Coral" or nautical bride/bridesmaid shoot. It was very a very fun, very long day... but I'm so happy for Melanie and everyone involved. I'm only sharing a few pics, so that the big reveal can happen on her website!... It's her business after all! I'll let everyone know more details later. :) Not only was I a part of the shoot, but so was some feature pieces of my Stella & Dot Jewelry! So perfect and such a wonderful fit with the summer line.
Here you go...

This is a quick shot that Mel took of me at the site, to give you an idea of how we were all styled. Stripes and Coral and Braids, oh my! :) (thanks for the pic Mel) How cute is that La Coco Coral necklace from S&D! Worked out perfectly!

I did a quick up-do on the "bride" before our shoot. Like I said, ours was the last of the day, so we had some time to get ready and do our hair and makeup. It was fun to play, and it turned out super cute! I was texting "approval" photos to Melanie throughout the process so that she could "yes or no" them while she was out on the other shoots. She "yes'd" this one.

Another approval shot... this time, of the style I did on my own hair, with a smidge of humor added in for Mel. ;) aka, me being a goof-ball.

Once we were all dressed and styled by the talented Melanie, we were off to our nautical location, which due to holiday events in San Francisco, ended up being the Embarcadero...it was perfect to say the least. What a gorgeous day in the city! AND we found parking, which was amazing. (If you've ever been there on a sunny weekend you understand.)

Here's a quick shot of the bride after getting out of the car. So cute! Love that Stella&Dot necklace!

There were so many people out and about... and we grabbed this "groom" as soon as we spotted him! How lucky for us and how sweet of him (and his understanding wife) to suddenly become part of the shoot! Perfect!

Stella&Dot was on the ready, along with my "walking" shoes. I wore patent nude heels in the shoot that, well, were not "made for walkin'."

After everything was done, we (the "bride" and me) headed home for a much needed meal. (we hadn't eaten since breakfast!) We went for the healthiest option obviously. It was the most delicious meal ever at 4:45pm.

Then, finally, I went to Melanie and Andrew's house to take Lola for a walk since they had some other things to do in San Francisco that evening. She was very excited to see me! (or anyone probably, but I'm going to say it was totally because it was me!)

Such a fun day, and I can't wait to share more details with the you once they are all available!
Hope everyone had a great weekend!

High Five Friday!

Just barely made it for high five friday! Linking up with Lauren at From My Grey Desk for my 5 favorite things! I was super busy this week at work and getting prepped for my first trunk show as an Independent Stylist for Stella & Dot! It was SO much fun and such a wonderful experience! Definitely the highlight of my week...

:::one:::
Here are a few pics of my displays before everyone starting trying things on and I started styling them! It was a super fun evening and I am so grateful for the folks that came for my inaugural trunk show! I mean, could this jewelry be any more lovely! A gal's dream!

(visit my stylist site at www.stelladot.com/sites/karachase to view the amazing collection!)

:::two:::
This little lady came to my trunk show with her mama. She was workin her striped dress and really perusing the lookbook. I think we have a future fashionista on our hands! Watch out Mom! :)

:::three:::
This is my amazing co-worker Amy, doing her best to keep things light during our lunch break. Success Amy, success. (Could those faux bells of ireland be ANY taller?! I mean really?!) This picture made my day.

:::four:::
I picked these up on a whim for my "dairy sensitive" I guess I would say, friend. They turned out to be the most delicious cinnamon treats. I will totally buy them again for myself. We called them the best tasting air ever...because really, what's in them!? :)

:::five:::
This was my relaxing moment from the week. Out on the porch, in the sun, glass of juice and a funny book. Perfection!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! I've been a bit m.i.a. this week, and will this weekend too... I'm doing a photo shoot for my friend's new business and it's going to be so much fun! I can't wait! Have a wonderful holiday too!

1 shirt, 2 ways

I'm guest posting today over at Lattes and Love so hop on over and check out Torie's awesome blog!

I recently purchased a cute polka-dot shirt on a whim (it was next to the register as I was checking out and I just grabbed it without trying it on, way to get me!) and have been mildly obsessed with it since. I've worn it three times already! You've seen it here on my Sunday Stroll post as a super casual weekend look, and I wanted to show everyone another way to wear it! I went on a "shopping the competition" work excursion recently and wore it in a more "classic way" since it was still for a work day. I added a sweater (in neon, of course!) dark denim, and cognac colored flats.

ONE WAY:

Shirt, Jeans and Sweater (Gap, herehere and here); Belt (Target ) Shoes (Steve Madden here, I got mine at DSW), Purse (Kate Spade, no longer available similar ) Jewelry (Forever 21)

WAY TWO, as seen originally from Sunday Stroll Post

I'm sure this shirt will make another appearance, because honestly, I'm in love with it.

My Lunch with Andy Cohen

That's right, THE Andy Cohen. I don't think I've fully discussed my love of reality TV, mostly that which resides on Bravo. It's a problem really, more than a love. I must watch. That Andy and his brilliant casting has hooked me in no matter what. I've watched "The Real Housewives" series since season 1 of the OC and literally every episode of every city since. I've been listening to Vicky Gunvalson "wahoo" for many years. I can't get enough of it.

My love doesn't stop at housewives. Generally speaking, if it's on Bravo, I'm watching it. I also watch every episode of "Watch What Happens Live", which Andy Cohen hosts. ("Andy Cohen's got the 4-1-1...") Andy's officially a part of my life and I'm okay with that. I'm even more okay with it after my "encounter" with him on Wednesday.

By some miracle, he was doing a book signing/interview/lunch event in the very small, town-next-to-my-home-town, on a Wednesday at noon. Say Whaaaaat!? My friend and co-worker Dan told me about it and I called for tickets immediately. 2 minutes later I had purchased tickets to have lunch, listen to Andy get interviewed and get his book signed. I asked my very understanding manager (who is a huge fan as well) for the day off and she said yes. It was on!

First I had to choose my outfit (I mean, I blog about fashion mostly so of course this was important!) - not too dressy, but still put together. (see whole outfit here) I also had to allow plenty of time to be sure my "side pony" was perfectly imperfect. Somehow I knew he would notice. (In my dreams right?) I sound a little ridiculous, but he talks about his love for the side pony so obviously it had to happen. I was NOT the only one sporting one, but I must say, mine was complemented multiple times. Just saying. :)

We all took our seats, which we chose ourselves. My friend and I chose one toward the back for comfort since any seat in the small-ish restaurant was a good seat. (Little did we know what would happen in a matter of minutes.)

 We each had a "Danville" swag bag at our seats. Cookies from local eateries, gift cards from local businesses. Decent stuff. A nice surprise.

Here we are, patiently waiting for not more than 10 minutes. Seriously, we already had our tea and salad. We were quite comfortable. And then... Out of no where, just behind our heads...

 We heard, "Hey Guys!" Thinking it was the host or the restaurant manager checking on us. But no, it was Andy himself. We chatted... No biggie! :) My Friend Dan and Andy had a moment regarding a past twitter post- Andy remembered, it was fun to watch.

Then he was just waiting to be announced, right next to me. No zoom necessary on my camera phone. Just hanging out with Andy....

We listened to a fun interview with a local broadcaster, and then he took questions from the crowd. He dished some gossip and then it was time for the book signing. I also took a pic of the drink menu (below) notice the names of the signature drinks. Perfection.

Here we are, at the book signing. He took a picture with everyone which I thought was so kind. And when I walked up, he said, and I quote, "Hey Side Pony!" Yesssss... :)

It was such a fun day, and I couldn't have asked to spend it with a more fun friend, Dan. Great memories. I'm not the "superfan" type, but I had a great time. Andy was so much how is he on TV which I really appreciated. It was like meeting a friend. He was so approachable, not "celebrity-ish."

I highly recommend his book, "Most Talkative" on sale now. I haven't put it down since I got it!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone! And as Andy would say "Mazel!"
